St. John

EXPLORE THE
US Virgin Islands

Though St. John is the smallest of the three main U.S Virgin Islands, her majestic beauty is perhaps most cherished than anywhere else in the Caribbean.
St. John offers visitors pristine waters and beaches; amid modern luxuries. Initially settled by the Arawak and Carib Indians, the island has a history as rich as its landscape. It wasn’t until 1917 that the United States purchased St. John from the Danish West India and Guinea Company. In 1956, L. Rockefeller donated 5,000 acres of the gorgeous island to the National Park Service to cherish for generations. With the majority of the island designated as a national park, St. John has some of the world’s most pristine beaches, like the much-beloved Trunk Bay. This beach is renowned for its crystal sands and underwater nature trail, and it just one of the many incredible beaches on St. John.

TRUNK BAY BEACH

Located along St. John’s famous North Shore sits Trunk Bay. This stunning  white sand beach, surreal crystal clear aqua-blue waters and Underwater Snorkeling Trail make Trunk Bay arguably the crown jewel of the US Virgin Islands National Park. A perennial favorite on most CARIBBEAN TOP BEACHES lists. Photos of Trunk Bay, as seen from the scenic overlook, have graced magazine covers, travel advertising, TV commercials and filled countless megabytes on visitor’s cell phones and cameras!

St. John has amazing beaches. Cinnamon Bay and Trunk Bay are amazing for snorkeling right off the beach, and right from the yacht. Maho Bay is perfect for snorkeling with sea turtles. Each of the best beaches are located within protected bays, so the water is refreshing and warm.

WHAT PEOPLE SAy

It's hard to describe just how different St. John is from St. Thomas--even though they're just a short ferry ride from each other! St. Thomas is extremely commercialized and St. John is the polar opposite--with much of the land being protected from development! Much more affordable that others, such as St. Bart's.
Gem of an island. One of the most transparent, crystal clear ocean water you will ever see in the world. Breathtaking views of the surrounding Virgin Islands. If you like beaches, this is one of the islands to visit. I have been to many beaches on many islands in the world, Americas, Europe, and Asia, Indian Ocean and Pacific, and Saint John is on my top 3 list.
What an incredible place! The pictures do not do it justice! If you find yourself in the area (on Saint Thomas) then catch a water taxi over to Saint John and head to Trunk Bay! You will not regret it!! I have been to beaches in Thailand, Belize and Australia and this beach is up there with the best of them! Bring some snorkel gear if you go and stick to the rocks, you’ll see a ton of fish! 😊👍
